THREE FRIENDS PITCHERS SHUT DOWN ST. JOHN’S, 7-1, IN RAIN SHORTENED CONTEST

Three
Friends pitchers combined on a two-hit performance and freshman Leland
Nislow broke a scoreless tie with a two-run, second-inning triple to
lead the Quakers to a 7-1 MIAA B Conference baseball victory over
visiting St. John’s Catholic Prep, yesterday at Medfield Heights, in a
contest that was halted after six innings because of rain.

Wick Eisenberg, Andy Dolina and Mike Meshulam limited St. John’s to just two hits and the single run.

Nislow’s
big blow came with two outs as he drove the ball to right-center to
plate Alex Goldstein and Robert Atkinson.  Sophomore Kelly Dayton also
had a triple for the Quakers, bringing in Austin Lasky, who later
smacked a RBI double.

In addition, Alex Goldstein went 2-for-4 for Friends, which is now 1-1 overall.
