DUDLEY LIFTS #1 BOYS’ LATIN OVER LOYOLA WITH OT GOAL

Senior
Jack Dudley accepted a pass from teammate Kyle Frank, less than two
minutes into overtime, and scored a dramatic game-winning goal, as
top-ranked Boys’ Latin edged #3 Loyola, 9-8, to remain unbeaten in its
MIAA A Conference lacrosse opener.

Loyola had some dramatics of
its own, moments earlier, as Joe Cummings netted a feed from Steele
Stanwick, as time expired in regulation to tie the contest and force
overtime.

Loyola battled up hill all afternoon as it trailed the Lakers, 3-2, at the half and, 8-5, in the second half.

Junior
Mark Field paced the Lakers with three goals, Dudley had an assist to
go with his game-winner and Frank added two goals.  In addition, senior
Brett Weiss scored a goal and handed out two assists.

Stanwick was the only Don to score two goals and he also finished with two assists.

Both
keepers were tested early and often by the wealth of talented on both
offenses and each turned in outstanding efforts.  BL’s Jacob Hageline
stopped 12 shots and Loyola’s Leonard has 12 saves.
