MCDONOGH’S AGORSOR SCORES TWICE TO LIFT BAYS IN OPENING ROUND OF REGION I YOUTH SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIPS

PORTLAND, Maine รข?? McDonogh’s Chris Agorsor, one of several MIAA players on the U17 Baltimore Casa Mia Bays soccer team, scored both of his team’s goals, as the Bays defeated Juventus (MA), 2-1, yesterday, in the opening round of the U.S. Soccer Region I (East) Championships, at Bowdin College.

The Bays, who are coached by McDonogh’s Steve Nichols, fell behind 1-0, but Agorsor, off a feed from Calvert Hall’s Christian Barreiro, tied the game at one late in the opening half.

In the second half, Agorsor struck again, this time unassisted, and the Bays claimed the 2-1 win.

The Bays are attempting to win the tournament and advance to the US Soccer National Championship, late next month in Dallas, Texas.  Gilman head coach Jonathan Seal is an assistant to Nichols as is Baltimore Blast General Manager Kevin Healey, a Calvert Hall graduate.
