Senior guard Larry Bastfield scored 17 points and senior Terrell Bruce added 14 as No. 9 Towson Catholic routed Calvert Hall College, 74-41, in a MIAA A Conference match in Towson Tuesday evening. Senior center Brandon Green had 12 for the Owls (14-9 overall, 10-3 league), who won their fifth straight decision and 12 of 14 overall.
Brandon Holmes, who had the game-winning shot in Sunday’s victory over No. 19 Loyola Blakefield, led Calvert Hall (11-11, 3-6) with 13 points. The Cardinals will play at No. 8 St. Frances Academy Friday evening while Towson Catholic heads to Owings Mills for a conference match with McDonogh School.

Sophomore forward Troy King scored 16 points, and senior Trent Epps and junior Greg Hunt each chipped in 12 as St. John’s Catholic extended McDonogh School’s misery in an A Conference tilt in Owings Mills. The Frederick County school led, 38-27, at halftime as McDonogh dropped its 10th straight league decision.
Senior guard/forward Gerrard Sheppard led the Eagles with a game-high 24 points. McDonogh will host No. 9 Towson Catholic Friday evening while St. John’s Catholic hosts No. 17 Cardinal Gibbons.
